Tofutown.com GmbH, known for its brands Viana, Soyatoo!, Demeter Soya Alive and VeggieLife, is currently building an extension with an area of 1.800 square metres. Especially packaging and storage facilities have become too small. They will be expanded by the end of the year.

The company has also taken efforts to involve construction companies from the region.

The successful architectural and planning team from 2001 is once again in action and ensuring an harmonious connection to the existent building. The showpiece is a fine example of corporate design with its clear architectural forms, environmentally friendly building materials, efficient energy usage thanks to heat recovery and an organic integration into the beautiful landscape of the surrounding nature reserve.

Sustainability, environmental friendliness and care are not only important whilst building, but also important aspects of the Tofutown.com philosophy. And so the brave tofu-makers are proud of the fact that many ingenious measures have kept the total water consumption at the level of ten years ago. And that at the same time as a twelve-fold increase in production.

Tofu fact no. 1: Did you know that the production of a single kilo of meat requires 20,000 litres of precious water? That's a whole swimming pool! One kilo of Viana Veggie Mince of Viana Tofu only needs about 11.5 litres of water.
